We know that the ongoing pandemic can cause concern and worry for our PTS patients, so it’s important that you know what to expect when travelling with us to your appointment.
If you’re travelling in an ambulance, our staff will be wearing Level 2 PPE, which includes a surgical face mask, apron and gloves. Unless you’re exempt, we ask that you also wear a face covering whilst travelling in the ambulance.
You may travel with another patient, but please be assured that we will keep this in line with social distancing guidance. In order to adhere to this guidance, we also ask that escorts only travel if they are absolutely necessary; if they need to provide a task that our staff – or hospital staff – cannot. If that’s the case we’d advise you to check with the hospital too.
If you’re travelling in a car, the driver will be wearing a face mask and gloves and you should be able to get in and out of the vehicle without assistance. Again we ask that you please wear a face covering where this can be tolerated. There will be no other patients travelling with you in the back of the car.
