Collection tins

Every donation, no matter how small, helps make a difference. We would love you to take one of our charity collection tins and watch those pennies turn into pounds!  

If you would like a collection tin for your school, business, shop or workplace please contact the Charity Team at [email protected]. We’ll arrange to get one sent out to you. We’ll always send you an acknowledgment when your tin is returned, which helps you to keep track of the difference you are making to the North West Ambulance Charity.

Volunteering 

NWAS staff supporting a charity fundraiser

Could you donate the gift of time? We are always looking for volunteers to help support fundraising by helping out at events, collecting charity buckets or giving out collection tins, for example.

We’ll be here to support you in your role however you choose to get involved. For more information on volunteering with our charity, please email us at [email protected]. All volunteers are highly valued by the organisation, and we would welcome your support.  

Donating unwanted clothes

Don’t let your unwanted clothes go to waste or take up space in your wardrobe, recycle them in our clothing banks instead and help support our charity instead.

We have partnered with The Ambulance Service Charity (TASC) to run a clothes recycling scheme.  

You can donate:

  • Adult and children’s clothing 
  • Socks 
  • Coats 
  • Underwear 
  • Paired shoes 
  • Handbags 
  • Linen 

Our sites with clothing banks are:  

  • NWAS Head Quarters, Ladybridge Hall, 399 Chorley New Road, Bolton, BL1 5DD 
  • Estuary Point, Hurricane Drive, Speke, Liverpool, L24 8RL  
  • Broughton Area Office, 449-45 Garstang Road, Broughton, Preston, PR3 5LN 
  • Salkeld Hall, Infirmary Street, Carlisle, CA2 7AN.  

We kindly ask that when donating your clothing, please do not leave bags outside the clothing banks.  

What we can’t accept – We are unable to accept bric-a-brac, toys, plastic or electrical items.

The donations are collected by our recycling partners and wearable clothing is re-used, usually sold in under-developed countries. Any textiles that are unwearable are recycled into such items as industrial wipers and car upholstery and reused in the production of many other items.  

Corporate support

Your company or workplace could make a lasting impact on its local ambulance service by partnering with the NWAS Charity in the following ways:

  • Payroll giving – encouraging your employees to give monthly through their salary.  
  • Charity of the year – choosing us as your Charity of the Year and working with us to achieve great things.
